About
Twenty-five years ago, as a young teen, I participated in a bikeathon at Pocono Raceway. I have fond memories of that ride. Pedaling on the massive speedway with it’s banked corners and long straight-aways. You could feel the speed of the track and all the heritage and intensity it has absorbed. I remember working hard with others to go as far as I could in the allotted time. Working together with different groups of riders drafting and taking turns on the front and doing it all for a good purpose. I love the freedom of riding my bicycle. I hope while we enjoy our amazing day on the raceway we are able to make the lives of others more enjoyable and care free too.
For over a year I have been working to make this event happen. Due to the excessive rain, scheduling and other extenuating circumstances it wasn’t looking good for a bikeathon at Pocono Raceway this year. But by the grace of God, here we are! I would like to thank the Mattioli family and the Pocono Raceway family. They have been wonderful through the careful steps to bring this event to fruition. Although the preparation time has been short I hope we have been able to prepare an amazing day for everyone and that you have the opportunity to enjoy and remember it as I did.
Sincerely,
